Website Policy
The JEDI Website is dedicated to maintaining a level of comfort and security for its members and visitors. Therefore, we have developed a Website Policy containing a set of guidelines that all individuals who participate on our forums or chat rooms are required to adhere to. These guidelines are as follows:
- All members, visitors and staff shall be treated with courtesy and respect. If you cannot get along, we would ask that all disputes be settled privately, so as not to disturb the positive or otherwise neutral atmosphere of the forums.
- Any material presenting a serious concern of disruption, abuse, insult, vulgarity, discrimination, prejudice, harassment, obscenity, profanity, threatening behavior, invasion of one's privacy, violation of law, or a containment of references not deemed suitable for the general public may be removed or edited at the discretion of the administration, while responsible individuals will be dealt with accordingly.
- All of your posts have to be suitable for reading by those of the age of 14, in order to allow us to maintain an area appropriate for people of all ages. Innuendo is fine, but direct references to anything of an inappropriate nature are not acceptable.
- Individuals posting anything considered irrelevant, off-topic or purely unrelated to the main intentions of a topic will be asked to post their reply in another thread deemed relevant, or to post a new thread if a related thread cannot be found. Additionally, topics started in an unrelated forum will be moved into an appropriate forum and a "Shadow Topic" will be left in the originating forum for reference purposes. Any posts considered spam will be immediately moved into a secure and private forum and responsible individuals will be dealt with in a legal manner accordingly*.
- Discussion of and promotion of illegal methods of obtaining programs (hacking etc) will be immediately moved into a secure and private forum and the responsible individuals will be warned. We will not allow such discussion here, because we intend that the site remain clear of any possibility of illegality, and if members persist with such posts, they will be banned and dealt with in a legal manner accordingly.
- The utilities and services provided by the JEDI Organization are for the benefit of its members, visitors, and staff. Anyone using those utilities or services in a manner other than directed, or that is inappropriate or in violation of the above guidelines will either be warned or removed from the service or utility and subsequently may also be warned or banned from the JEDI Website depending on the level of abuse.
*Spam is considered a form of attack on a service with the intention of disrupting that service, and therefore has been made illegal.
The JEDI Website follows a basic Three-Strike Rule system (unless otherwise indicated). This system operates as follows:
- Violation of one or more of the above guidelines will result in a single strike being issued to the individual(s) in question, as well as a warning being issued either publicly, privately, or both. Another violation within the strike period will constitute a second strike and subsequent suspension from the JEDI discussion forums for a period of time determined by the administration. If at any time during or after the suspension period is up, but before the strike period is up, another violation happens, a final and third strike will be issued and the individual(s) in question will be banned from the JEDI website and its affiliated utilities and services for a length of time determined by the administration, (generally anywhere from three months to a year).
- Individuals who have a strike placed upon them within 30 days after the expiration of a previously placed strike, and have done so three times consecutively, will be placed in strike three status and will suffer the consequences of that strike level.
- Additionally, the administration has the right to warn individuals without placing a strike or strike level upon them if the administration finds that such individuals current activity may lead up to a situation of direct violation of any of the above guidelines. This is for the purposes of deterring a negative situation from getting any worse, and possibly to the point at which an individual(s) action would constitute a strike.
The Administration reserves the right to deal with individuals or issues not covered by the above rules yet still in violation of legal and or ezboard rules of conduct in any other appropriate manner other then directed by the three-strike rule.
