Variety of Belief
For myself, I have always voted against the documents where people wish to create fanfictional myth around a myth of evolution known as "The Force". Since these documents contain this endless falsehood of fanfictional myth, I have another definition that may help better to detemine the factions and various sides for a belief in the Force. You should know that this is a reflection from our world, and not from the fanfictional universe created around "Star Wars".
Jedi
Jedi are known as those who represent the supporting, aiding members of a community. Jedi do things for the benefit of others and even themselves and their community - while they do not see their personal self as dominating factor for their activities.
Darksiders
Darksiders reflect the opposing view concerning spirituality and creed, yet they share same values concerning the Force itself. Darksiders act for their own benefit, their own gain and advancement. They act alone, they act against the benefit of a commnuity.
Fallen Jedi
Fallen Jedi are those beings who once followed the path of the Jedi, but abandonned or replaced parts of this way of life for the establishment of their own personal belief in the Force. In comparison to the Jedi, the Fallen Jedi appear to be mislead or misguided through their individual and different ideals. They distance themselves further from the Jedi by promoting subjective ideals which seek the own advance and gain before the benefit of others even if one of their goals is to create a community on their own. In this attempt to create their own concepts and organizations (i.e. "Shadow Jedi", "Light Jedi", "Dark Jedi", "Light Sith", "Dark Sith" , the various Fallen Jedi walk on a different path compared to the path of a Jedi or a Darksider and cannot be acknowledged to fit into the Definitions of Jedi as individual but as a globalized entry only.
Force Sensitive
Force Sensitive beings have either a belief, a creed or a religious concept that leads them to the myth and truth of the Force. They are not bound to the commonly known community, rather set up their own new definitions. Seperatist Communities may group under such banners and create new factions or titles on their own, similiar to the "Fallen Jedi". The "Force Sensitive" are those people who are receptive to sense impressions, capable of being stimulated or excited by these impressions. The word impression should be a place-holder for all kinds of emotions, feelings, etc.
Sensitive
If you are a sensitive being, and now a being that is sensitive to the Force, you are as the word sensitive means highly responsive or susceptible as a easily hurt or damaged, easily hurt emotionally, delicately aware of the attitudes and feelings of others, excessively or abnormally susceptible, readily fluctuating in price or demand, capable of indicating minute differences, or readily affected or changed by various influence. Sometimes sensitive beings are those who demand tact, care, or caution in treatment, as they are touchy in good or bad means.
There we figured out what sensitive actually means. As you gave examples, they more or less meet above's description. But as I come from some other place, and since I know english as my second language, I am able to interject some information here. You are probably aware of the fact that "sensitive" is a synonym for "liable".
Liable
As you consider "Force Sensitive" as "Force Liable", I may add this: It means nothing else that one is obligated and responsible (if you draw this out with accordance to law or equity), or that one is subjecting to appropriation or attachment with the Force. On the other hand, the "Force Liable" people are in a position to incur, or are exposed or subject to some usually adverse contingency or action. Being Liable implies a possibility or probability of incurring something because of position, nature, or particular situation. The "Force Liable" are indeed doing this as they have differences in their idealistic crusade once you compare them to Jedi or Darksiders.
Force Sensitive vs. Force Liable
If you can understand that I see "liable" and "sensitive" being expressed in my mother's language and in english through various other words, I decided to use the word "sensitive" instead of "liable". For me, it expressed the combination of the spiritual and political points, while it reflected the bio-mental reaction to the Force in the same second. Perhaps I made a mistake there, as I wanted to cover two things at once with this definition. And perhaps I made a step way too much ahead to where we should be one day - open enough to this theory, as I point it out - a theory of four major possibilities - Jedi - Darksiders - Fallen Jedi - Force Sensitive/Force Liable. Any offspring would be grouped beneath them.
Sith
Sith represent the state of Balance. As Jedi are holding up the laws and order, helping the helpless and defenseless, use their abilities for the community and not their personal gain or ruin or domination of others, through their acting - Jedi do indeed destroy. But by doing nothing, Jedi let others destroy. Yet every destruction leads to construction. In the end, the Force is floating in a state of balanced destruction and construction at once. You have a constant creation. Write new, remove old, write newer, remove older - this concept is similar to a vicious circle.
To visualize it with most simple words: Jedi stands for the light side, Darksiders of course for the darker scents of mindfulness. And that what Sith are is being in Balance. It is a Balance of Chaos. They are able to redeem their existence in between the opposing sides of good and evil. More about this topic will be revealed soon through "Universal Unity - Part 2: The Weakness of Inferiors" and "Universal Unity - Part 2: Balance of Chaos". It just takes some time to write it out...
Have you ever been known to the word itself? Its not fiction, but indeed a rarely word found in the terminology of old english. Concerning its etymology, you might know from midieval texts (Shakespeare for instance) the word "sithence". Now I go a bit straight ahead with the etymology I found in Webster's Dictionary. Sithence comes from sithen. Its again coming from Old English siththan, which results out of sIth tham "after that". sIth means "after, late" and tham is the dative of thæt "that". Push this back to current time. Sithens or Sithence represent the old form for "since". An interesting point here is the meaning of "sithence" as the word "since" ... it holds the following meanings:
- from a definite past time until now
- before the present time
- after a time in the past
The word "Sith" itself as a title bears a semi-complex meaning as you can perhaps reword this to: Sith represent Balance from a definitive past time until now. As it is before the present time and -through their acting- after a time in the past. This all is achieved in a Balance of Chaos. Sith stay within their borders, as it is before, after and in present, too.
Its a nice riddle - can you figure it out?
