And It Became Legend - Legend Restored by Dameon Volkum
Omicron was just a desolate poor boy in rags, usually fighting over scraps or a few credits he found acidently dropped by the citizen's pockets. He never knew his father or mother, not even if they still existed or not. He only realized that he existed in a world of corruption and mistreatment.
Because of the harsh times, no one could do as much as give him a tiny, quarter-of-a-credit meal at the local markets out of pure kindness, which surprisingly, since he was used to his surroundings, supplied him of food for the day. As he soon grew in his teenhood years, he adapted to the concept of work, and began to search for necessary jobs that consisted the bare minimum of payment.
One day, at the age nineteen, he acquired his name while traveling to a distant town. A word "Omicron" was deeply carved into a small, smooth stone he found at a mud river nearby his path. On the other side of the stone, he found a medium-sized image, an "O" with a huge "X" that came from the O's center. With somewhat considerable amazement, he dashed the stone into his shatchel, and later during his journey, decided to name himself from the name of the object found within the muddy waters.
Within a long, famined year, starving and looking for any way to find a credit, he ran into a desert-type wilderness to die and end his suffering. There, laying on top of a sourched plateau, he threw the stone that he had found his name on into the heated abyss below. Suddenly, as he watched the stone drop from the gravitaional pull of the planet, the stone within a split moment stopped dead still, and himself, amazed with total wonder which he never possessed ever before, stood up and stared...
The stone quickly let out a blaze of blue lightning which went towards him and through him. It happened so fast that he losened his footgrip from the plateau and came crashing down. Dazzled with this unexpected conflict, he closed his eyes tight, and with all that he was, without fear, he began to imagine that the incident never happened.
And his wish ironically came true...
He suddenly reopened his eyes from the slight change of weight, saw that he was once again upon the plateau he once stood on before. In his hand he saw the stone which he had thrown into the abyss, it's form glowing fiercly in a blue light. Then, slowly, it came back to its basic look of stone. Beyond dillusion, he dropped the stone on the ground, and before his eyes the stone broke in half to reveil a clear, white crystal laying before him. He stared at if thinking that he, himself, had dropped into the desert abyss was only merely a dream, or that he was still in one, since the crystal appeared before him, gleaming in his eyes.
All he had to do was think of it, and the crystal flew into his hands. He felt a power, some type of "force" that now was flowing hrough him. He soon became very optimistic while possessing the crystal, and, with hope, traveled out from the desert to where he once was. He called the force he had experienced, because of his drop towards the abyss, "Purest Faith".
Days later, he still held the crystal, afraid to sell it for credits. He knew it posses some type of power which had brought him close to "Purest Faith", and that it was, he felt, brought him close to an unfolding destiny, a destiny in which it was for him to show others the signifiance of the "force" that the crystal had gave him.
He quickly grew old and wiser, teaching those of his powers. They were all baffled and amazed, especially when, one day, he began to rise the grain from a deslote farming land. Cities then began to surplus in food because of him and his deed, and soon, in that certain area in which he migrated in, the famine existed no more.
The now, middle-aged Omicron became extremely wealthy because of money given to him from his so-called "miracles". He was known as a prophet. People gave him fantastic greetings when he showed his presence to their town, preparing a great feast in his honor. He forgave the people, those that did not help him, for he knew that they did not understand any other way. He showed them kindness, forgiveness, and mercy. And he was loved, for the people now knew what love really meant.
The name of Omicron spread throughtout the planet, yet those who still kept their unmeriful power sent messagers and bounty hunters to catch his hide for their own profit. But they were no match to his "force". He quickly became not a myth but a real legend, in which the tale was so distinctive from what other gossipers had heard before.
During this time, he looked for those who shared his strength. At first, he thought that he was the only one, or that there were merely a few who had experienced the same thing as he did. But he soon found many souls who posses "Purest Faith", especially those who had a been attuned to a certain type of philosophy and morals. It seemed he had found the power inside these certain groups of people, who had never knew they had this strength within themselves. And as more time passed, he devised a simple, yet effective guide, which would tell these people of the true power they had been gifted with.
He called it "The Omicron Measuring Rod". Its body read as followed:
The following subjects who are consisted of "Purest Faith" found and experienced by Omicron of Ossus have such similar qualities within their own souls:
- Those who seem to be courageous, or strive to be gifted within,
unique, yet understanding to others
- Those who seem to express a love of reason or knowledge
- Those that have understood of a greater power, having the faith to believe it
- Those who have been tested of views at one point or another, in which they must stare at there weaknesses to be free from them
- Those that strive for wisdom, and would choose wisdom higher than many other fields, for it is what keeps them focused and enlightened
- Is, I declare, "forced" of their own selves into things to do what is right and what is just
- Those who have an urge to find their full potential, using their beliefs to find it
This he had written on parchment, while staying as a guest inside a family home. Later on, he expressed his teachings of "Purest Faith" he had found long ago, and later found truths and morals which connected to his teachings.
Those that heard and belived his words did not call him a wizard or magician, but the name of Omicron--he was Omicron, and that was all that needed to be described of him. His name became more and more distinctive as they adapted his sayings and saw him bring end to the evil and the corrupted.
As an old man, he had forseen that his time to die would soon come to take his life. Laying on his way to death with Karu, a faithful servent, and Deven, the skilled one with a blaster who had placed Omicron in his housing. In a nearby village, a group of allies proposed to the two of them the option to place Omicron in a known metal called Carbonite before he died of age. They then asked him for permisson, and he granted them to do so. But in the meantime of his approval, he asked Karu to hold the crystal that he had kept for so long until one man, with similar strength as himself, who claim it and rule their planet. Little did he know that the man he had forseen to be ruler would one day continue his own visage of the breathtaking powers in which he cherished so much.
He was soon placed into Carbonite, in which he was held as a symbol, a reminder to those of what he, Omicron, had done for their people. Below his carbonated casket was engraved the writings of "The Omicron Measuring Rod" that he had once written to find of others like himself.
This is the legend of Omicron.
Aftermath:
Remember, this part of the story was written thousands of years ago.
Many have long since forgot of the rod, after many blitz wars, especially when the Empire took control of Coruscant. They took the parchment, and abused the Ossusian history to keep Sith rule and forget one of the first origins of the Jedi Knights. Ossus was a restricted planet at the time, and soon it became isolated and abandoned for many years. Only some lifeforms remained hidden within the world, like my ancestors before me. You may research Ossus for yourself at Star Wars planet archives where ever you may find one, but you'll mainly hear only a brief story from them. Here is a tale that has been passed through my generation. In later stories, you will recieve more explaination about this concept.
I have no clue what the Empire did to the particular piece of writing called "The Omicron Measuring Rod", yet that is why another one from my generation during that period of time had wrote this history down as soon as he could, and hid it when the Empire took control of Coruscant. I truly thank him for this. Now, generations later, I am trusting these stories in the hands of The Jedi Creed to hear it's tale after many years since it has been heard. Let us cherish it well...and understand its meaning.
