Vomitting - Disgusting, or Lesson on Life?
We all know how unpleasant throwing up can be, and I promise you I won't get
into the details about it. The night before I write this article, I experienced
something I don't believe I'll forget.
Yep, you guessed it, I threw up. But that's not the whole story. From the
moment I woke up in bed and felt that nausiousness, I knew I must have ate
something bad. For about a half-hour, I kept denying the fact that I may just
be sick. I did whatever I could to prevent it. From drinking a ton of water,
to taking anti-acid medicine, I held back that feeling and did my best to push
it away with my mind.
All of which, ultimately, failed. The interesting part came just ten minutes
before my unchangeable fate. I finally admitted to it. I recognized that it
was going to happen, so why hold back. I said to myself,"I'll just get it over
with." That was when I could really feel something. I'd never experienced it
before in such a way. It was acceptance, and possibly awareness. I understood
what couldn't be prevented, so I didn't worry about it anymore, which was a
great relief.
I know what you're thinking,"Couldn't he have come up with a better example?".
Well, no. Remember this. The next time something bad is about to happen to you
and you know it can't be prvented, then just let it happen. Stop worrying, and
accept it. You'll feel a lot better, trust me.
