Should Jedi work for government?
I have had many ambitions when I started training as a Jedi. At first I was
full of fervor from the "Episode I" movie, and then I began to take it more
seriously. I have had many a dream of the Jedi being a branch of military or
a chivalric order for some countries. Now, I know that the Jedi are for now
no more of an obscure secret society, and if you tell people you are a Jedi,
then they will probably treat you like a retard.
But what if it did happen? What if the Jedi knights come out of obscurity
and actually work for the world nations? I think it would be up to the
reader to decide what to think on this subject. I for one would rather shoot
myself than work for the United States. I know that that kind of comment
would unnerve most people, but I don't particularly like the U.S. You have
taxes on everything, children's and student's rights are ignored, education,
particularly in the Southern States, is almost nonexistant, and the Bill of
Rights and the Constitution are used as political tools, but are not
considered to be important. I heard of a survey done in all fifty states.
Some researchers asked some people where the phrase "From every man according
to his ability, to every man according to his need" came from. Almost all of
those surveyed said it came from the U.S. constitution, when in reality it is
a mantra from Karl Marx's "Manifesto of the Communist Party."
But, to think about it, the U.S. does have some good points. Free elections
are still prevalent, and I like that. It's everything else about America I
don't like. But, then again, if the Jedi were to work for the world
governments, then some of them might shape up, maybe even good old
capitalistic America.
Now, I will understand if you do not accept this. It's just that our country
has problems that the Jedi can probably solve.
May the Force be with you.
